I have a Motorola Razr and I found this information on how to easily get ringtones without having to pay the $1.99 or however much Verizon is charging.

Send an email to yournumber@vzwpix.com, with the MP3 as an attachment.

When it arrives on your phone as a PIX message, the file will already have been converted to AAC format, and can then be saved with the “Save Sound” choice under the Options menu.

It will now appear in your list of ringtones.
